Frugal – spend cut – w/e 29/03/15

From my weekly budget of £20, I have spent:

  • £1.20 – tea at language meetup.
  • £1.00 – collection at my friends’ baby’s christening.

Total – £2.20 £17.80 into savings.

This week’s food spend is as follows:

  • Sunflower seeds – £0.85
  • 3 x beef escalopes – £3.45

Subtotal – £4.30

Two healthy foods, the beef was a bit pricy but I ate it for dinner two nights and my husband had a piece for breakfast so it did three meals.

  • 2 outdoor reared pork steaks – £2.24 (reduced)
  • 4 x sandwich steaks – £3.50

Subtotal – £5.74

Following the Whole30 rules means no Basics meat and no pork at all unless it’s outdoor reared, which has increased the meat budget quite a lot. But if I start to reap the health benefits, it’s worth it.

Total – £10.04
