Frugal – spend cut – w/e 03/05/15

From my weekly budget of £20, I have spent:

  • £2.80 – breakfast with a friend at work.
  • £1.00 – chocolate.
  • £1.50 – drink at language cafe.
  • £10.00 – Nepal earthquake donation (matched by Facebook)

Total £15.30, £4.70 into savings

Food shopping

  • Ribeye steak – £3.99 (reduced)
  • Chicken thighs – £2.19 (reduced)
  • Belly pork – £2.83
  • Natural yoghurt – £1.35
  • Tissues – £0.55
  • Cocoa powder – £2.00
  • Chocolate orange – £1.95
  • Toilet roll – £3.50

Subtotal – £18.36. Mostly sensible except for the chocolate orange!

  • Ground coriander – £0.75
  • Cadbury puddles chocolate – £1.00
  • 15 free-range eggs – £2.00
  • Cinnamon – £0.49
  • 2 x minced lemongrass – £2.60

Subtotal – £6.98. Again, mostly sensible and things which will last more than a week, apart from the chocolate; I got tempted by something new, but it wasn’t very tasty and I wouldn’t buy it again.

Total – £25.34 – comfortably under budget, which builds in some wiggle room for the rest of the month.
