Frugal – Year 2 of free fun – month 3

This month’s fun activities were:

  • borrowed books from the local library
  • visited a friend at her house twice
  • visited another friend at her house once
  • visited my parents for three days (£16.20 train ticket)
  • went for dinner with my family before my birthday (free – the birthday person doesn’t pay)
  • went out for lunch on my birthday (£6.90)
  • went to a leaving party at a local restaurant (£18.84)
  • had lunch with my boss (she paid)
  • had two work lunches out (paid for by work)
  • had a post-birthday lunch with friends (£6.95)
  • volunteered twice at a local stately home
  • studied Esperanto, French and Portuguese with Duolingo
  • continued writing morning pages
  • watched free TV online (Humans, Murdoch Mysteries)
  • worked on ongoing knitting and cross-stitch projects
  • read some knitting magazines (birthday presents)
  • went to a Japanese restaurant in Birmingham with a language meetup group (train – £2.40, meal – £22.00)
  • went to Birmingham library (partly included in price of train ticket to my parents’ house, £2.40 to come back)
  • went for a drink and cake in a coffee shop – £6.95
  • went to a language meetup – £3.20
  • went to a friend’s baby shower
  • Train ticket – £16.20
  • Lunch 1 – £6.90
  • Leaving party – £18.84
  • Lunch 2 – £6.95
  • Drink at meetups – £3.20
  • Train tickets – £4.80
  • Dinner – £22.00
  • Coffee shop – £6.95

Total £85.84

Not bad going for a UK trip, two dinners and several lunches.
