Frugal spend – w/e 17/01/16

Out of this week’s budget of £19.70 (overspend of £0.30 last week), I have spent:

  • £3.20 – drink and cake at knit group
  • £1.50 – drink at language meetup
  • £2.40 – drink with a friend
  • £15.00 – 5-year renewal to my school alumnae association

Total £22.10, -£2.40 into savings.

The renewal cost has only been offered as an annual cost until this year, so at £3.00 it wouldn’t  have caused an overspend. As the 5-year renewal protects me against future price rises, I thought it was worth it. Over the next five years, I’m going to save the pence from each payslip towards renewals.
